Civil Service Salary Rates and Ranges

The State Universities Civil Service System recognizes four methods for setting the salary rates and ranges for Civil Service positions: Open Range, Negotiated, Prevailing Rate, and Established.

Open Range
Civil Service classifications structured under this pay plan have a salary in a particular range. The ranges are designated by minimum and maximum hourly and annual rates for each grade level. Ranges are based on comparisons with the same classification at other Civil Service System institutions and with different classifications at the University.

Select a campus location for a list of salary grades and the corresponding range minimum and maximum rates.
