Qualifying Event/State Plan Changes

Select the type of change you want to make from the top left side menu or from the list below.

A qualifying event is a change in an employee's personal life that may impact their eligibility or dependent's eligibility for benefits. As defined in the IRS Irrevocability Rule, employees experiencing a qualifying event can change certain benefits for a specified time period.

When experiencing a qualifying event, employees have 60 days from the date of the event to submit a change in any State of Illinois plan. If the 60 days has passed, employees must wait until the next Benefit Choice period to make the change. Any changes made must be consistent with the qualifying event experienced.

For additional information or help, see Qualifying Events - How to Change Your State Benefit Plan Selections to Support Life Events

Select your qualifying event below. Then click the Continue button to CMS MyBenefits.
